Banting Paptert

Banting Paptert. The best dish you will ever have guilt free.

  • Yields: 4 Servings



3 cups of cauliflower

2 T of butter


1 T olive oil

1/2 cup of sliced onion

1/2 cup of slices mushrooms

1/2 cup of green and yellow pepper

1/2 can of chopped tomatoes

1 tsp of white vinegar

1 tsp of Xylitol

1 tsp of crushed garlic

1 tsp of Italian herbs

Pinch of salt and pepper


250g of bacon

1 1/2 cup of grated cheddar cheese


1Preheat oven to 180° C.


1Cook the cauliflower for about 10 Minutes.

2Add to the blender and pulsate until couscous texture.

3Place in baking dish with butter.


1In a sauce pan heat 1 T of olive oil.

2Add the onion, mushrooms, peppers, tomatoes, vinegar, xylitol. garlic, herbs, salt and pepper to the pan.

3Fry until ingredients are fairly cooked.


1In a separate pan, add the bacon and fry until golden brown.

2Grate the cheddar.


1Add a layer of the sauce on top of the cauliflower in the baking dish.

2Add the bacon.

3Sprinkle over the cheese and place in the oven and grill until cheese has melted and is golden brown.

4Serve with your braai or any other protein as desired.
