Banting Shepherd’s Pie

Banting Shepherd's Pie. Taste better than the original.

  • Yields: 4 servings


250g of Full fat mince

1/2 Onion

1/2 Green pepper

1 cup of sliced Mushrooms

1 tsp of Steak and Chops

1 T Olive Oil

4 cups of

75 ml Fresh Cream

1 tsp of Italian herbs

1/2 tsp of Salt

1/2 tsp of Pepper

2 cups of shredded cheese



1Chop the onion and greenpepper finely.

2Add the Olive oil to medium to high temperature frying pan.

3Add mince, onion, greenpepper to the frying pan and sprinkle over the Steak and Chops.

4Add mushrooms a few minutes after.

5Fry all ingredients until golden brown.


1Cook the cauliflower until soft in water.

2Remove from water.

3Place in a blender with the cream, Italian herbs, salt and pepper.

4Blend until smooth.


1Preheat oven to 180°.

2Place a layer of the mince combination at the bottom in a baking dish.

3Add the next layer with the cauliflower combination.

4Sprinkle over a little bit of the cheese.

5Add another layer of the mince combination.

6Add another layer of the cauliflower combination.

7Sprinkle over most of the cheese at the top.

8Place in the oven for 7 Minutes until cheese is melted.
