Cheesesteak. A South African twist on the American Philly Cheese Steak.This steak is a great option for weekend dinner.

  • Cook: 15 mins
  • Yields: 1 Serving.


300g of Rump

50g of Provolone cheese

1/4 tsp of steak and chops spice

1/2 tsp of lemon juice

2 T of sauteed onions

1 tsp of crushed garlic

1 1/2 tsp of olive oil

1/4 tsp of salt

1/4 tsp of black pepper

Spray and Cook.


Rump meat

1Preheat the oven to the broil heat setting.

2Place the rump in a container and rub with salt, pepper, lemon juice and olive oil.

3Let the meat rest for about 30 Minutes.

4Spray the metal baking pan with Spray and Cook.

5Once the oven is heated to the broiling heat temperature, place the meat on a metal baking pan.

6Place in the oven for 5 Minutes on each side.

7Remove from the oven and place onions (sauteed onions see below) and provolone cheese on top.

8Place the pan back in the oven for another 5 Minutes or until the cheese is completely melted.

9Remove and enjoy!

Sauteed Onions

1Heat a frying pan to medium to high heat.

2Drizzle with olive oil.

3Chop the onions and add to the pan with a sprinkle of salt and crushed garlic.

4Saute for about 3.5 Minutes and remove when browned.

5Add to the steak.
