Skewered Prawns. Best for the summer days when having a braai outside.

  • Prep: 30 mins
  • Cook: 10 mins
  • Yields: 4-6 Skewers

Ingredients

400g of prawns (cleaned, deveined and the heads removed)

1 tsp of crushed garlic

3/4 cup of melted butter

Pinch of garlic and parsley salt

1/4 cup of lemon juice

4-6 bamboo sticks

Directions

1Prepare your braai using charcoal and firelighters.

2Make sure the prawns are defrosted.

3Sprinkle over the lemon juice and leave for about 30 Minutes.

4Soak the bamboo sticks in water for about 30 Minutes.

5Melt the butter in the microwave for 1 Minutes.

6Leave the butter to cool to avoid cooking prawns prematurely.

7Sprinkle the prawns with the garlic and parsley salt.

8Mix the garlic with the melted butter. Pour over the melted butter mixture and make sure you cover the all of the prawns.

9Start putting the prawns on the skewers. The fat side first then the smaller side second until the skewer is complete.

10Place the skewers on a rack over very hot coals and cook for 3 Minutes on each side.

11Remove from the braai and serve with side dish of choice.
